Mid-Autumn Fest at NP

Mid-autumn Fest

An extremely long day I had in school today!
I left home at 9am, and ended up reaching home at 11.30pm!
Today was indeed memorable.

Although I didn't win anything for the lucky draw, which I had expected, I had brought home with me not just prizes which could be seen or used, but even MORE meaningful things which money can't even buy.

This was the last event which we year 2 committee members were organising: Mid-autumn festival. And next year february, we will be having OUR own farewell party. It's really surprising how time flies. Before you least expect it, 1 and a half year of life in polytechnic is gone. That means there's another half more to go. Half of the 3 years, I mean.

In the past few days, Vina and I were busy with the decoration stuff. We spent our time going to Bras Basah to buy our materials and finish up with the I-LOVE-CHS badges, went to the library to cut out the star shapes, painting the 3-D moon and 2-D stars with fluorescent yellow and glow-in-the-dark paint, blah blah...

Today we were putting those BEAUTIFUL stars everywhere in the little theatrette at the Convection Centre. And of cos, not forgetting we had to take off EVERYTHING we decorated once the event was over.

Oh well. That was one of the few things I did, without forgetting that I hosted the Miao-maio Game Show together with SH.

As the minor comm members, we contributed a lot. But without our dear vice-chairman YJ, all these wouldn't be possible. She must be the one having the most stress. A round of applause for YJ :)

Also had a sort of H2H (heart-to-heart) talk with YF. She shared some matters with me, and I could really empathise with her. It's as if I almost found someone whom I can really talk to. Someone who does not have a fake personality, someone who doesn't say something but have another totally different meaning to it. (I'm not referring to anyone in particular here, just making a general statement.) And maybe I could even share the Wuhan University dorm with her and YJ, hopefully? Haha. Still have another semester to go, anyway.

YES. I DO mean another semester. ONE MORE FREAKING SEMESTER. And most probably our whole year 2 batch will be studying in China TOGETHER at the same time. Chances are there'll be no more splitting into 2 seperate batches. But still, I think lots will be drawed, as to who goes to ZUCC, who goes to Wuhan. Latest news which leaked out from the one of the teachers today okay. I can't remember who, but I think it's Nan laoshi. They haven't announced this officially yet, of cos. So probably attachment will be delayed? Hmm.

Only the 5 of us from L1 were there, sad to say. But oh well. There'll be more food to eat! Hah. I'm not a greedy pig okay :X

I'm not gonna comment too much on the event today. But I think that those 2 comedy skits which the year 1s had put up were entertaining! Good work :)

Another thing which I'll probably never ever forget: I sat in Nan laoshi's car when I went home! Yes! He actually drove the car to Dover Mrt Station! Hehe. Not forgetting to snap some pictures in the car. Haha. But of cos without flash, if not it'll be embarrasing if he knew that I was still taking pictures at that point of time.

Admirers of him: maybe next time you can try to spot which car in the carpark is his? I'd be magnanimous enough to reveal to you that it's black in colour :)

I took MANY photos with my camera, including the one which belonged to SH's friend Yue Ming. Thank you. Simply loved the 12X zoom which his Canon camera had! It was grreaaat :) I really liked the way which I could zoom in on someone from a reeaallly far distance. But it was only 6.0 mega-pixels, as compared to my Sony which was 7.9 mp. I still like mine better :D

Okay. I've realised I've written quite a lengthy post. To me, this is already lengthy. Considering the fact that I haven't written a post THIS long for a long period of time.

Since I can't afford to sleep late because I've a shoot coming up, I'll just let the pictures do the talking.

Here are just some of the nice ones which I took with my Sony:

Chinese Age Test

I'm SO bored.

Have been busy these few days preparing for the mid-autumn festival event.

Those I-LOVE-CHS badges, lucky draw slips, location decoration etc...
Going to Bras Basah for dunoe how many times...

(Alright. It's only 3 times.)

Look at me. I repeat: I'm SO BORED!

That's why I took this Age Test which I took the url from a senior's blog.

Results:

Mental age: 26
Difference from actual age: 9
Childishness: 60%
Maturity: 61%
Aging rate: 22%

What?! My childishness and maturity percentage is almost the same?

Thank goodness.

My maturity is still higher. Even if it is that mere 1%. It matters okay.

Maybe you've noticed or maybe you haven't.

I've got makeup only on half of my face.

Yes, exactly half.

I was trying out the Clinque glittery light purple eyeshadow which I haven't used before.

I was bored, remember?

Laneige Cocktail Party; Dinner at T3

I got selected by the Cozy Cot peeps to attend to LANEIGE's Exclusive Cocktail Party yesterday!

20% discount leh!

How could I have left without buying anything?!
Haha.
So in the end my one and only splurge of the day was on the LANEIGE SKIN VEIL BASE.
Mine's in light purple :)

Product Benefits:

The Ceramide Repair Water moisturizing ingredient, which is commonly
applied to LANEIGE Base Makeup, maintains the appropriate level of skin
hydration all day long. The Meso-porous Silica, one of Laneige’s star
ingredients, gives superior oil control. It actively assists sebum absorption as
it gives high coverage of skin’s imperfections. Skin is kept fresh and a matte
face is the finish.

With an SPF 26/PA+ UV blocking function, the make-up base protects your
skin from daily UV rays.

(Description taken from Laneige SG website)

Gonna start using it when I have my next photoshoot :)

There was also a live demonstration by Hong Lim, the Korean make-up artist!

Too bad. I was late for 15 minutes and by the time I found the CORRECT Laneige Booth, the demonstration was already over -.-

All I saw were women pigging out on the buffet there. I didn't even feel like eating anyway. It would be just weird la. Imagine a buffet by a cosmetic counter in a departmental store. :X

But anyway, I registered my attendence as a Cozy Cotter and made away with the doorgift. Shopped a bit more and met up with Ah-buh-ji nearby.

After sunset mass at church, went to airport T3 with Ah-buh-ji and Omma.

That WAS supposed to be Ah-buh-ji, but now he's NOT!

Yes. I've photoshopped Shan into my Ah-buh-ji's picture.

Not that my Ah-buh-ji is not cute. It's just that Shan is waaaaaayyyy cuter. XD

So girls, back off! Shan is mine :)

Beijing Olympic Games 2008: China W Gymnastics

Yay!

The long-awaited Olympics held in China is finally here :)

And today's the event I've anticipated most: Woman Gymnastics!

China of cos is well known for their gymnasts so there's gonna be a lot of excitment added as well.

Gymnasts to look out for on the Chinese team include Yang Yilin, a native of
Guangdong province. Yang is an Uneven Bars specialist, but is also seen as a
chance for a medal in the All-Around event. He Kexin is also an expert on the
Uneven Bars and has publicly stated that her goal at Beijing 2008 is to beat the
United States' Nastia Liukin. Probably China's most well-known female gymnast is
20-year-old Cheng Fei, from Hunan province. Cheng competed at Athens 2004, but
did not win a medal. She is a specialist in the Vault and Floor Exercise
events.

(Taken from Beijing Olympic Games 2008 Website article)

Coach Lu Shanzhen and 20-year-old gymnast Cheng Fei.

She's only 1.52m tall but she's fantastically amazing.

Here's more photos of her training the Balanced Beam on Friday:

The Floor:

Really impressive stuff she's got.
Ok. Enough pictures of her for now.

Here's 16-year-old Jiang Yuyuan:

No. I don't think her name is fishball.
But nevertheless, she's a cute girl, isn't she? :D

.

.

.

.

.

.

Yes. I've said enough of 20-year-old Cheng Fei.
Folks, this is 16-year-old Yang Yilin.
She's not Cheng Fei's sister. (duh)
But both of them look awfully alike huh?

Go China! Win the US team! Wipe that smirk off the US girl gymnasts (especially Shawn Johnson -.-)
